Take care of yourself during the fall

It is well known that spring and fall are the most unpredictable seasons of the year.

You may be enjoying a sunny day but suddenly a wave of strong winds or even a little rain starts.

Fall is a season of transition, that means that we’re going from a warmer weather to a colder one. Therefore, it is very common for people to catch a cold when they do not know how to cope with sudden changes of temperature. Here at DTX CLUB, we believe that everything is possible while you have an optimal health. That is why we want to share with you these tips that will help you spend a more pleasant fall without putting your health at risk.

• Vaccine against the flu

It is a very effective way to prevent colds. Every time you get vaccinated, they insert the virus that we want to protect ourselves from but very weak. In this way, the organism studies it and knows how to immunize itself in case it appears later. To get the vaccine, just go to your medical center and ask for it.

• Adaptation to temperature

In this season it is very common that the climate can be warm at noon but in the afternoon it refreshes considerably. The key to dealing with these changes is to dress in layers, that is,use a thicker jacket or sweater on the top and use a thinner one underneath. So if the temperature rises or falls, you will always be prepared. Try to avoid using too many clothes, this will only cause you to sweat and create an accumulation of bacteria more easily.

• Greater consumption of Vitamin C

During this time it is more important to increase your intake of vitamin C, since this is the vitamin responsible for strengthening your immune system and prepare your body for possible diseases that want to develop. Citric fruits are your best allies to achieve this, try to consume oranges, strawberries, kiwis, tangerines, grapefruit, among others. You can also choose juices that contain some citrus, just make sure that they are natural and do not contain added sugars.

• Adequate ventilation

Humidity is very common in the fall, which can cause fungi and bacteria to accumulate in several parts of our house. To avoid this, even if it is cold, open windows from time to time to renew the air and have an adequate ventilation.

• Outdoor activities

The fact that it is cold outside does not mean that you should give up your outdoor activities. If you have a strong immune system, you can continue with your everyday activities. If you expose your body to cold weather, it will become stronger. In case you decide to spend time outside, wear clothes that cover you but that transpire so that you do not sweat or suffer a cold shock.

• Hygiene

As we already mentioned, when we are in this season, it is easier for fungi and bacteria to develop, not only in our homes, but also in our body. If we cover ourselves too much and start to sweat, an excess of temperature is caused for a long time, which causes the bacteria to proliferate and begin to invade. Therefore it is important to maximize hygiene during this time.

• Infusions

Infusions are recommended in the fall since in cold season the meals become bigger and therefore the digestion becomes slower and heavier. For this, it is recommended to take infusions that help us improve digestion.

• Sunbaths

Even if the day is very cold, sunbathe for at least 10 minutes a day. This will help you improve your mood and according to various studies, you can strengthen your bones.

• Hydration of the skin

It is important to keep the skin well hydrated all the time, but especially when the weather is very cold. The cold causes the skin to crack and dry out more than in hot weather. The same goes for the lips. To prevent this , use body cream that hydrates you enough and apply a lip balm to protect you.

• Drink a lot of water

Not only in hot weather we must increase our water consumption, we must also do it in colder weather. When the temperature drops, it is common that we eat more often, this to maintain a higher body temperature. Therefore, it is recommended to drink water between meals in order to have a faster digestion, in this way we help the digestive system work well.

• Rest and get enough sleep

Resting enough will regenerate and replenish you after a cold or a very cold night. When you rest enough, your immune system regenerates. Always try to sleep at least 7 hours in a row.

• Avoid sudden changes in temperature

If you are going to stay outside for a long time, make sure you keep warm, always trying to dress in layers so that you can adjust your body temperature more easily. If you are going to a warmer place, do not take off your coat or sweaters quickly, wait for your body to adjust to the change in temperature. On the other hand, when you go out to a colder place, make sure you cover yourself enough so that your body does not suffer the sudden change in your body.

• Peeling

During the fall we recommend you perform peelings to remove impurities and dead cells from the face and other parts of the body. Many may believe that in cold weather there are no impurities but they are wrong, the body needs to be renewing the outer layer of skin (epidermis) constantly.

• Watch your mood

Some people are often discouraged with the arrival of fall, this is because the daylight saving time gets modified and the days are usually shorter. Many even suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder. You have to take care of yourself inside and outside, always paying attention to what your body is demanding.

• Eat fruits and vegetables

During the fall there are many fruits and vegetables in season, make sure you add them to your diet and enjoy all the benefits they offer. Fruits are loaded with vitamins, minerals and fiber. Eating them can help your digestion and help you stay satisfied longer.

• Take care of your hair

Our hair also suffers the side effects of the dry autumn weather. It is common for hair to dry more during this time, especially when there is a lot of wind. To help, hydrate your hair constantly and if possible go to a hairdresser to remove hair that is already badly damaged.

• Use sunscreen

As we already mentioned, fall is a transition season, there will be some very cold days and hotter ones. Therefore, it is important to keep applying sunscreen every day, especially on your face.
